NEW YORK, NY (May 3). Flashforward announces today that nominations will be closing for the 12th Flash(tm) Film Festival (http://www.flashforwardconference.com/nomination.asp) at 5pm PST, Friday May 7th. The film festival is an online competition and live awards ceremony held July 8th at the New York Hotel, which showcases the world's best Macromedia(R) Flash(tm) design and development work in 16 catagories. The three-day conference is held July 7 - 9 at the New York Hotel.

Through May 7 anyone may nominate a Flash Web site in one of 15 categories including Application, Art, Cartoon, Commerce, Educational, Experimental, Game, Motion Graphics, Navigation, Original Sound, Story, Technical Merit, 3D, Typography and Video. Through May 7 nominations are being accepted at the following URL:

In the past, more than 2000 sites from more than 60 countries have been nominated at each festival. Once the nomination deadline closes May 7, a jury of 30 Flash experts narrows the list down to the 4 top finalists in each of the 15 categories. These 60 finalists are then showcased on the Flashforward web site at www.flashfowardconference.com and the Internet public votes for the "People's Choice" award. Voting begins on Monday, June 7, 2004.

Winners are announced at the live Flash(tm) Film Festival awards ceremony at 6pm EDT on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at The New Yorker Hotel.
