New Tools, New Technologies, New Techniques ... and A Flock of Birds, Too
Toronto, Canada [May 15, 2008] --
FITC returns to Chicago with two full
days of presentations, workshops and networking opportunities, part of FITC
Chicago (
http://www.fitc.ca/chicago) at Chicago
City Center Hotel & Sports Club, June 22 - 23, 2008. This is the second year
for FITC Chicago, which includes a strong local contingent represented by Samuel
Agesilas Pastel (
http://www.levelofindustry.com/) and
Zack Stepek (
http://www.cravemg.com/), and sneak peeks of
new unreleased technologies.
"We are excited to be returning to Chicago
with a jam-packed program that covers the hottest trends in design and
technology," says Shawn Pucknell, Director of FITC, producer of the
event.
Richard Galvin, technical product manager for Flash at Adobe
Systems (
http://www.adobe.com/), kicks off FITC Chicago
with a
sneak peek at some of the new technologies currently in
development at Adobe Systems. Entrepreneur Avi Muchnick follows with a first
look at the tools currently in the Aviary (
http://a.viary.com/)
product pipeline. Aviary, a new suite of sophisticated web applications for
designers, 3D modelers, and artist of all genres, is one of the most ambitious
projects ever attempted to be built in ActionScript 3.
Erik
Natzke (
http://www.natzke.com), always a favourite at
FITC events, wraps the day's presentations with a talk on his personal evolution
as a designer working with technology. Named one of the Top 10 Young Designers
by HOW Magazine, Natzke's commercial, as well as personal, works have received
numerous awards within the fields of both design and advertising.
Other confirmed presenters include: Sean Koriakin (Imaginary
Forces), James Paterson (Presstube.com), Jon Ruppel (schematic), Jason Theodor
(Critical Mass) and R. Blank (AlmerBlank)
Also on the schedule for
FITC Chicago are two pre-event workshops on Sunday, June 22nd -- 'Building
on AIR: Developing AIR Applications with Flex' and 'Papervision3D From the
Core.' 'Building on AIR' will be presented by Zack Stepek, owner and founder of
Crave Media Group (
http://www.cravemg.com), an Interactive media
consulting company located in Rockford, Illinois. Zack is manager and founder of
the Stateline Macromedia User Group in Rockford and has distinguished himself as
a valued member of the training staff at Chicago's Digital Bootcamp.
Amsterdam-based Ralph Hauwert leads the Papervision3D workshop.
Workshops
