Your article is great. Iīm starting with amfphp now. Before I made myself some projects with coldfusion componentes(cfc) and flash remoting. My question is: How much would the php script change if, for instance, you incorporate the funcionalities from the new PHP version (5)? That meeans, I can use the constructor __construct()??? The other methods can be called exactlly the same way??
Thatīs is. Well, I hope I can came back with news and some other questions!!
Bye and thank you in advance.<br/><br/>

It was a pleasure to follow along and get right into it. Thanks also for the very useful and compact background information how Flash communicates with PHP and vice versa.<br/><br/>

When I test the example in my local test server, I got an error shown in the NetConnection Debugger saying that BulletinBoard.php exists but the class with that name are not found. But actually the class is there! At last I found that the php opening tag in the BullentinBoard.php is <? only instead of <?php which i usually used. I changed that and the example works finally! Hopes this will help if anyone facing the same problem.<br/><br/>

But when I upload the exact same fine to the remote server, it simply hangs. Is there anything I'm supposed to change about the swf file on the local server ?
Here is the file which hangs.

There were some big changes between 4 and 5, one of which - a small one - is that default is <?php so unless you change that in the ini file then old code will blow up when migrated to version 5. Check out php.net for a complete list of the changes. Just make sure that your localhost and your server have the same versions.<br/><br/>

It's used by the service BulletinBoard.php but it's not a service so I suppose it shouldn't be kept in the amfphp/services/ folder. Also, what kind of file permissions should it have, 760?<br/><br/>
