What you mean is:
"Position the guides so that the area you <b>DO</b> want to scale is in the center of the guides". Scaling will not occur outside the bounding box.<br/><br/>

However your article misleads a bit on the actual functionality; since you used dynamic text without including the font, the field doesn't get resized — even though the inner slice *is* resized. It's a nuance but I thought it was important enough to be noted.
